Куи:drūnga (drūngi-) "to swing, sway, shake, oscillate; n. a swinging motion"
Кхуттия куи:dūŋg- "to hang"
Куви (Фитцджеральд):tūngali "to sway"
Куви (Шульце):tūnginai "to swing (intr.)"
Сункараметта куви:tūŋg- (-it-) "to hang (intr.), be hanging"
Дополнительные формы:Also Kui drūngoli, drūngoni a swing; drūpka (< drūk-p-; drūkt-) to cause to swing or sway; n. act of swinging someone; trupka (< truk-p-; trukt-) to oscillate, swing up and down; Kuwi_F tūkhali to swing, weigh; Kuwi_Su tūk- (-h-) to hang, hang up, weigh
Комментарии:The inlaut resonant is probably secondary in this root (both SDR and NDR have *tūng-). Nevertheless, Manda has trūŋg-, which makes us suggest that the resonant was indeed present in Proto-Khond and does not represent a Kui innovation. In Kui initial d- is due to assimilation with several resonants; the original voiceless t- is preserved in trupka.
Дополнительные формы:? Also Kui usa (usi-) to set a post into the ground, kneel; uta (uti-) to kneel.
Комментарии:Kui usa and uta cannot be related to Kui uha (all three represent PK *uc-, *ut- and *us-); possible relationship on a higher level is, however, not excluded.
Куи:uṇba (uṭ-) "to drink, partake of food, smoke tobacco"
Куви (Фитцджеральд):ūndali
Куви (Шульце):unnai "to drink, suck"
Сункараметта куви:un-
Куви (Израэль):uṇ-
Дополнительные формы:Also Kui ūṛpa (ūṛt-) to cause to drink, give to drink, suckle; ūṭpa (ūṭṭ-) idem; Kuwi_F pālū ūndali to suck; pālū ūthali to suckle; Kuwi_Su ūṭ- (-h-) to give to drink; Kuwi_Isr ūṭ- to give to drink
Комментарии:In Kuwi_F the form is irregular (*urhali would be expected); as it is, it can only be traced back to *unḍ- with an irregular -ḍ- developed after the original nasal. This can be attributed to the process of "reforming" the original simple stem by "hypercorrection": that is, the causative ūthali < *ūṇ-pali could be reinterpreted as from *ūnd-pali (which is, in fact, a far more frequent situation). One cannot also exclude an analogy with onda 'boiled rice', which, although on the PK level it is a different root, probably is of the same origin.
Куи:ūga (ūgi-) "to be stripped off, split off, skinned"
Куви (Фитцджеральд):hūngali "to be opened"
Куви (Шульце):hunginai "to recede"
Сункараметта куви:huk- (-h-) "to take off (clothes), flay (tōlu huk-)"
Куви (Израэль):huŋg- (-it-) "to become loose"
Дополнительные формы:Also Kui ūpka (< ūk-p-; ūkt-) to strip off, skin; n. skinning; Kuwi_F hūkhali to open; tōlū hūkhali to skin; Kuwi_S huk'nai to extricate; hukk'nai to undress, loose; tōlu hukk'nai to skin; Kuwi_Isr huk- (-h-) to untie, loosen
Комментарии:The most strange thing about this root is not the irregular aspiration in Kuwi (which is, indeed, met quite often before -u- and probably reflects a specific aspirative character of this vowel), but the variation -ng- in Kui and -g- in Kuwi. It is impossible to determine the exact variant of the root; we may only suggest that the simple form is secondary either in Kuwi or Kui (or both?), being formed by analogy with other similar roots.
